The CSIC launched the JAE Intro 2020: Introduction to research fellowships for University students. The objective of this program is to introduce students to research activity in diverse scientific areas and to enable them to be in contact with CSIC research centres. Three projects are offered by N&N Group. The call is open from 9 March to 9 April 2020.
Wenchao and Anna Roig attended the conference “Aerogels for Biomedical and Environmental Applications” that took place in Santiago de Compostela on 18-20 February. Anna gave a talk on bacterial nanocellulose as a cell culture platform and Wenchao presented a talk and a poster about his work.
Wenchao was awarded the Best Collaborative Poster Contribution award and the Best Oral Presentation in Early Career Investigator Forum award. Congratulations!
Last Friday 10 of January, Amanda Muñoz – a PhD student in N&N Group – attended the award ceremony of the video competition “Yo Investigo Yo Soy CSIC” which took place in CSIC headquarters in Madrid.
Remei Escudero, former member of N&N Group and Bachelor Student in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at the UAB, has won the 3rd prize of the Dresselhaus Awards, organized by the Catalan Society of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (SCN2). Remei defended her work by presenting a poster that was evaluated by a jury formed by PhD fellows. The event took place on 17 December 2019 and the results were announced in January 2020.
We are happy to announce that last 19th June 2019, Deyaa Youssef successfully defended his PhD thesis. Deyaa was a visitor researcher at the N&N group during two years. He worked with bacterial nanocellulose composites with carbon nanotubes for energy applications.
Congratulations!
Amanda Muñoz, master’s students at the N&N group, is participating on the nanoGUNE Winter School, which is held in the nanoGUNE facilities in San Sebastian (Spain). The School includes a combination of academic lectures, soft skills training sessions and hands-on lab practices. Amanda is learning about very diverse topics such us electrospinning, protein nanoparticles and photonics. We hope you enjoy the training and come back with fresh ideas!
Miquel Torras received an Extraordinary Master Prize from the University of Barcelona for his excellent marks during his MSc in Applied Materials Chemistry in this university (2016-2017). The ceremony took place last Tuesday, January 29, presided by the rector, Joan Elias.
