N&N Group welcomes three new students! Nanthilde Malandain is a PhD student and her project on bacterial cellulose will be supervised by Anna Laromaine. Darla Mare and Cristina Mira have been awarded the JAE Intro: Introduction to research fellowships for undergraduate and master students.
N&N Group will gladly accept recipients of Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions fellowships. The MSCA call for postdoctoral researchers is currently open and the details can be found here.

New paper “PLGA protein nanocarriers with tailor-made fluorescence/MRI/PET imaging modalities” authored by Yajie Zhang and Anna Roig was published today in Nanoscale. Irene co-authored the article.
On January 29, Anna Laromaine and Amanda Muñoz attended the Second BAR Meeting about C. elegans. Barcelona-based community of experts on the small worm met in the Bocconcino bar to talk about their research and experience in an informal setting.
The paper “Micro/Nanostructure Engineering of Epitaxial Piezoelectric alpha-quartz Thin Films on Silicon” has been recently published in the journal ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces.

This study has been carried out in collaboration with NanoChemLab from Montpellier, France.
Remei Escudero, former member of N&N Group and Bachelor Student in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at the UAB, has won the 3rd prize of the Dresselhaus Awards, organized by the Catalan Society of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (SCN2). Remei defended her work by presenting a poster that was evaluated by a jury formed by PhD fellows. The event took place on 17 December 2019 and the results were announced in January 2020.
