Video: Assessing Gastrointestinal Motility in C. elegans to Study Parkinson's Disease
Amanda Muñoz-Juan and Anna Laromaine have published a new video in the on-line video journal JoVE. It has been done in close collaboration with Víctor J. Yuste and Esther Dalfó. Both are from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and Dalfó, from the University of Vic, too.

Summary
This protocol details a quantitative defecation assay in young RAC1/CED-10 mutant Caenorhabditis elegans, providing a straightforward model to study prodromal Parkinson's disease stages. It overcomes limitations of other animal models and facilitates testing of therapeutic strategies targeting early Parkinsonian pathology.
