Nanoscience is the study of materials and phenomena at the nanometre scale—where atoms, molecules, and quantum effects shape behaviour in unexpected ways. At the Group of Nanoparticles and Nanocomposites (NN Group), we explore this nanoscale frontier by designing and understanding functional nanoparticles and nanocomposites. Our research combines chemistry, physics, and biology to develop new materials with applications in nanomedicine, energy, and information technologies. With expertise in synthesis and characterisation, we aim to unlock the unique properties that emerge at the nanoscale—and use them to address real-world challenges.
