We published WorMe: a new tool for measuring C.elegans

NN researchers Josep Llobet Lladó, Núria Garriga-Alonso, Amanda Muñoz-Juan, and Anna Laromaine have just published a paper introducing WorMe, a software tool that measures the length of Caenorhabditis elegans in compound microscopy images. Unlike most existing programs, which are designed for stereomicroscope images, WorMe offers a flexible solution that can handle different image types and analyse multiple images simultaneously.

New paper: The role of reactive oxygen species in liver fibrosis and immune modulation

NN researcher Muling Zeng has published a new article in the journal Redox Biology. The study has been carried out in a collaboration network with de Shenzhen Longgang Second People's Hospital, Premium Research SL, IBIDAPS, University of Barcelona, and the CIBER EHD.

This review examines how ROS function as both signalling molecules and stress inducers, shaping macrophage activity and influencing the development and resolution of fibrosis. Understanding these interactions opens the door to personalised treatments that target ROS and immune cell reprogramming.

New article: PET imaging of LDL for early detection of atherosclerosis

NN researcher Juan Pellico has published a new article in the journal Chemical & Biomedical Imaging. The study has been carried out in close collaboration with the Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares Carlos III.

This study introduces a novel PET imaging method to detect low-density lipoprotein (LDL) buildup in atherosclerotic plaques using short-lived gallium-68. The two-step click chemistry strategy enables highly specific, low-radiation imaging, paving the way for earlier and safer cardiovascular disease diagnosis.
