Next Monday 18th February 2019 at 12 pm, the ICMAB periodical lecture will be given by Dr. Katherine A. Mirica from the Dartmouth College (USA). She has been invited by Anna Laromaine and the title of the talk is: Conductive MOFs as Multifunctional Materials: Design, Properties, and Devices. Do not miss this nice opportunity to learn more about metal–organic frameworks!
This week Anna Roig has participated in the Advanced Course “De la Nanociencia a la Nanotecnología: luces y sombras del control de la materia a escala atómica” at the Universidad Internacional Menéndez y Pelayo (UIMP) in Santander. She gave a lecture lecture focused on nanomaterials and the unique physical and chemical properties that emerge at the nanoscale.
23rd-27th Octobre 2017
Anna Roig was invited to the XVII Congreso Colombiano de Química where she participated in two different ways: Anna gave and Invited talk entitled: “Inorganic Nanoparticles for Biomedical Uses; from Cradle to Grave” and she also delivered a lecture in the pre-congress course in the topic of “In-vivo Imaging Techniques: Materials Science and Nanotechnology Challenges”.
During her visit to Colombia, Anna also visited the University of Santo Tomás, where she presented the work of the N&N group in a talk called: “Bacterial Nanocellulose Functional Nanocomposites”
On May 2nd Anna Laromaine was invited by Prof. Ventura Lab to give a talk in their facilities. The Group of Natascia Ventura uses C. elegans as a screening tool to unravel molecular mechanisms of mitochondrial-stress, with special attention paid to the cross-talk between genetic and environmental interventions.
The Biomedicine PhD Program team organizes this one day symposium “Biomed PhD Day“ on December 7th at Universitat de Barcelona – Campus de l’Alimentació de Torribera.
Some of the most experienced and renowned researchers in the field, such as Dr. Manel Esteller (Cancer Epigenetics, Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute – IDIBELL), Dr. Antoni Trilla (Epidemiologist, Hospital Clinic, ISGlobal), and Dr. Patrick Aloy (Structural Bioinformatics and Network Biology, Institute for Research in Biomedicine – IRB), will give Invited Lectures in the symposium.
The symposium will also include some interesting workshops on subjects of specific interest for PhD students, such as “10 tips to get your paper published in high-impact journals and how to avoid rejections” by Dr. Marta Pulido, “The anomaly of women in science” by Dr. Sònia Estradé, “Business and technology transfer in Biomedicine: why the prospect of making money is not that bad” by Dr. Luís Ruiz Ávila or “Planning your Academic Career, with an Open Mind” by Dr. Elisabeth Pain, among others.
