Kick-off meeting of the E-BCN project

Yesterday, March 1st, was the day for the Kick-off Meeting of the project E-BCN: Engineering Bacterial Cellulose Nanocomposites (MAT2015-64442-R). The project will have a duration of three years and the team that will be working on it is formed by Anna Roig (PI), Martí Gich, Anna Laromaine, Jordi Faraudo (Materials Simulation and Theory Dept.), Dino Tonti (Solid State Chemistry Dept.), Laura Asturias and Anna May.
The main objective of the project is to develop new nanocomposites of bacterial cellulose (BC) by innovative cost-effective approaches. We will engineer BC at the biosynthesis stage, form nanocomposites with BC and nanoparticles, model relevant aspects of BC structure and its interaction with nanoparticles, and provide the proof of concept for novel devices and products.
If you want to know more about the project, keep following our activities in our website. You can also check our publications and/or contact us for any further question.

Merry Christmas from the N&N Group!

CHRISTMAS-NN-2-01

All the members of the Group of Nanoparticles and Nanocomposites participated in the group Christmas meeting by bringing nice chocolates, minerals (Bismuth and Calcite), origami stars, Christmas plants (Poinsettia and Mistletoe) and Christmas cards. The last group meeting of the year 2015!

We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy 2016!
Let the Nano be with you! ***

Muling Zheng attended the 2013 Chunhui Science Conference

altMuling attended the 2013 Chunhui Science Conference (26th June – 2nd July, Dalian, China) (www.chinaocs.com). The conference was organized by the Science and Technology Ministry and Education Ministry of China. Its purpose is to introduce a number of advanced technologies and projects overseas of high-level talents to return China. 1,270 overseas students were selected. Muling was the only representative from Spain. 28 provinces and municipalities have been enrolled in this conference. China is offering a very strong economical support for  students abroad.
