Welcome to Lijiao Hu!

Lijiao is a gradute from the Northwes A&F University in China and is currently a CSC fellow at the Nagoya University in Japan where he is preparing his PhD THesis doing research in Cooper Oxide nanoflowers. He is here in the framework of a Short Stay scheme financed by the japanese government. He will work under the supervision of Anna Roig in the synthesis of complex nanoparticles with microwaves.

Welcome to Pengfei Niu!

Sichuan_University_logoPengfei is a Master Graduate in Polymer Composites from the Univesity of Sichuan in Chengdu (China). He will spend 3 years with us thanks to the financial support of the China Scholarship Council  to complete a Ph.D. working in the development of nanocomposite sensors prepared by Sol-Gel chemistry. We wish him plenty of scientific and personal success.

Welcome to Zeynep Ergonenc!

viennaZeynep is a master student at the University of Vienna and will be with us for a 6 month internship under the supervision of Anna Laromaine. We wish her a successful research and a pleasant stay at ICMAB.

Project funded by the Plan Nacional de Investigación Científica!

Our application to the Fundamental Research Projects of the Spanish VI “Plan Nacional de Investigación Científica, Desarrollo e Innovación Tecnológica” with the project “Advanced preparation techniques for nanoparticles and their biomedical and environmental assessment (AdvancedNP)” has been funded.

We are very happy given the strong competition of the call due to the budgetary cuts.

Elisa Carenza and Muling Zeng represented ICMAB at Nobel Campus “Chemistry for Life”.

nobel campusLast 1st to 4th of July took place in Tarragona the Nobel Campus “Chemistry for Life”. ICMAB was represented by two students Elisa Carenza and Muling Zeng.

They had the chance to interact with Nobel Laureates as Sidney Altman, Ryoji Noyori, Barry Sharpless, Aaron Ciechanover, Richard R. Schrock y Ada E.Yonath.

Prof. Ada E. Yonath was appointed as mentor of Elisa Carenza and Muling Zeng. They had the opportunity to present their work to Prof. Ada E. Yonath and she provided feedback and advice for their future career.

 Overall some extraordinary scientific days!
