Our master’s student Allan Lancézeux defended his Master’s thesis at the UPC and obtained the highest mark!
Our Ph.D. student Amanda Muñoz-Juan was invited to FEMENINO PLURAL. Femenino Plural is an initiative of the digital journal Rioja2, an important media in La Rioja, Spain. The podcasts, available here, give the opportunity to different women that have something to say that have found their place or are fighting to find it.
Sole Roig did her Doctoral Thesis entitled “Novel bacterial cellulose materials: Structuration, functional nanocomposites and photocurable hydrogels” in our group between 2016 and 2021 supervised by Anna Roig and Anna Laromaine.
It is the first year that the CSIC granted this new award to CSIC Relevant Doctoral Thesis. The award recognizes doctoral thesis carried out and defended by CSIC research staff that have stood out for their quality, impact and relevance.
Anna Laromaine will participate as moderator of the round table in Girona at the event “Dones i Ciència: Investigador@s del territori”.
Next 8th of February, Amanda Muñoz will give a talk entitled “C. elegans, a useful tool in the bio-evaluation of nanomaterials” and Anna Laromaine will be a protagonist of Donesnano 2023, a good place to learn first-hand about research in nanoscience and nanotechnology.
Today, at 6:30 p.m., the Professor Anna Roig will be one of the protagonists of the exhibition “Catalan Scientists 2.0” that will take place at CIBA, the resource space for women, innovation, and feminist economy, from Santa Coloma de Gramenet.
The days 21st and 22nd of October, Anna Laromaine and our Ph.D. student Sumithra attended the congress VIII Spanish worm Meeting in Logroño while our Ph.D. student Amanda Muñoz appears on the news of her hometown. “Una investigadora riojana trabaja en Houston con los grupos que participan en el congreso científico del CIBIR”
Dr. Vinod is leaving the ICMAB after three years working with us and we prepared a farewell with a pot luck lunch to wish him all the best in the future. We enjoyed ourselves a lot and tasted very good dishes from several places in the world.
